This position reports to the Head Softball Coach. Responsible to the head coach for providing coaching expertise (pitching) and leadership of the intercollegiate athletics program; assisting the head coach in the effective management and administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student-athletes, and other administrative duties.
Primary accountabilities:
Teaching and coaching student-athletes in order to develop and acquire the extensive tactical, technical and physical knowledge required to be a competitive Division I intercollegiate level student-athlete. Responsible for skill instruction during individual and team practices and intercollegiate athletic competitions.
Talent assessment and recruiting. Assists in conducting a successful recruiting program to identify and cultivate outstanding student-athletes to Ohio University.
Assist with the administration of the Softball budget including budget management and team travel arrangements.
Ensure the Softball program is in compliance with
NCAA
, Mid-American Conference and Ohio University regulations.
Candidate must display the highest of ethical standards, recruit qualified student-athletes and display a commitment to their academic success. Must have the administrative ability to manage daily operation and excellent organizational skills. NCAA
rules and procedures is necessary.
Bachelor’s degree and softball experience.
Collegiate softball player experience.
ICA-Softball
Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
