This part-time position will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the softball program. The primary responsibility is to support the head softball coach, and support staff in all facets of day to day program operations. Candidates should possess an enthusiasm for working with student-athletes, a strong softball background, excellent oral and written communication skills, a relentless work-ethic, and a commitment to following USCAA and NAIA rules. This position aids the head coach in practice, games, conditioning, scouting opponents, recruiting and film work. Responsible for assisting the head coach in enforcing institutional, conferences and USCAA/NAIA regulations. They will report directly to the head coach and AVP for Athletics.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Assists the head coach in scheduling and providing transportation
• Assists in preparing events and practices
• Attends all practices and games
• Assist in recruiting efforts
• Carries out scouting assignments as outlined by the Head Coach.
• Provide student-athletes the necessary time and resources to succeed academically
• Promotes the sport on and off campus
• Maintains good relationship with alums, parents, officials, volunteers and fans
• Performs other duties as requested by the Head Coach

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and examine new theories pertinent to the field
• Ability to work in a team setting and work effectively with a variety of audiences and departments
• Understanding of student development
• Ability to balance student needs and take on an institutional perspective

Requirements

• Associates Degree preferred
• 2+ years Previous coaching experience in assigned sport
