Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Head Softball Coach, the Assistant Softball Coach will be responsible for assisting in all phases of a competitive

NCAA

Division II softball program, competing in Conference Carolinas.

Essential Functions

Coaching, scheduling, recruiting, travel arrangements, budget management, camps/clinics, field maintenance and development of the program within the guidelines of the

NCAA

, Conference Carolinas, and Lees-McRae College. This position requires evening and weekend work and travel by bus. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Normal office environment, in addition to work outside on the softball field and hitting cage in all weather conditions.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is required to off campus practices, recruiting trips, away games.

Required Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree

3-5 years playing or coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education and Experience

Coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Experience working with pitchers and hitters is preferred.
