Job Description:

Primary Function: Serves as assistant to Head Women's Softball Coach; assists with team practice sessions and game contests; instructs team members in game strategies and techniques; provides assistance in coordination of softball team recruitment activities; aids in the development of team contest schedule; transports student athletes to competitions as necessary; counsels student athletes concerning academic progress; assists in fundraising activities; and completes related duties as required.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus at least four years of collegiate softball or baseball coaching or collegiate softball or baseball playing experience required. Experience using data capturing technology (Rapsodo, Blast Motion or similar technology); ability to navigate video and data scouting programs (Synergy, 6-4-3 or similar programs); knowledge of HomePlate, HackATack, iHackATack, and Spin Ball pitching machines; understanding of advanced softball stats and sabermetrics; recruiting experience with the state of Iowa; and experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs preferred.

Student experience will be considered. Must abide by the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, and the University of Northern Iowa.
