The Assistant Softball Coach is a professional coaching position involved in working alongside the head coach in all aspects of running a Division II softball program. This position will involve working with individuals with various backgrounds. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, overseeing weight training and conditioning sessions, monitoring the
academic progress of student-athletes, recruiting, scouting, field maintenance, and assisting in all phases of a competitive softball program.

Coaching - 60%
Teaching our student-athletes the intricacies of the game of softball all the while preparing them for life after college. With our teaching our athletes about time management, team work and leadership, we feel as though we fit will within the mission of this university. -60%
Recruitment - 25%
Recruitment of quality Prospective Student Athletes who meet (first) the mission of the university and (second) will contribute to our athletic program being as successful as possible within the Peach Belt Conference and the NCAA. Ability to successfully pass the NCAA recruiting test administered annually.
Serving as an ambassador for Georgia College while recruiting quality student-athletes. Assist the head coach in providing Georgia College with a team that is competitive within the Peach Belt Conference as well as the NCAA Division II. -25%
Supervision - 10%
Provide phenomenal academic support for student- athletes; monitor grades and attendance; provide and supervise study sessions; provide tutors for student-athletes as needed or requested. -10%
Other - 5%
Perform non-softball related duties as assigned.
Assisting with game day management (for sports other than softball).
Assist with departmental fundraising and well as serving as an ambassador to the community and the rest of the university. -5%

Bachelor's degree
Required Experience
Two years of experience in intercollegiate or professional athletics
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree
ABILITIES
This person needs the ability to communicate effectively with both the student-athletes and the academic side of the university as we strive to provide the best possible academic experience for all of our student-athletes. This person must have strong leadership skills.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as it relates to the recruitment of prospective student athletes. Understanding of Georgia College's mission as well as our entrance requirements. Recruit quality athletes who are also quality students; insure that athletes will achieve GPA's comparable to
or greater than the University average; insure that athletes graduate at a rate comparable to or greater than the University average.
SKILLS
Communication skills a must; Leadership abilities are of the utmost importance.
