Job Duties

- Assist the head coach in managing and directing the softball program.
- Assist the head coach with all aspects of the team, including training, competing, and scheduling.
- Coordinate scouting and video exchange.
- Assist with recruiting, including calling prospective student-athletes, evaluating high school and potential junior college and transfer student-athletes, to include in-person off campus evaluations, phone calls, zooms, facetime and emailing, plus on campus evaluations and visits for all junior college and transfer student-athletes.
- Assist in scheduling all recruiting trips and coordinating game schedules for all potential junior college and transfer student-athletes.
- Schedule and coordinate on-campus visits for all potential junior college and transfer student-athletes.
- Assist with all uploading of transcripts evaluations in ARMs and review all returned evaluations from Registrar’s Office.
- Organize game management reports.
- Organize and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and uniforms.
- Coordinate team travel arrangements.
- Assist with fundraising and community service.
- Complete assigned administrative duties.
- Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, attend department meetings and activities, and always represent the University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and general public.

- Must have good communication skills necessary to direct recruiting efforts through fall and spring signing periods.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as needed.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, via social media and in writing.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Ability to effectively market and promote UIW softball.
- Ability to effectively conduct live batting practice.
- Ability to consistently follow the Mission of the University.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

| Required Education |
Bachelor’s Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
One (1) year of relevant coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level. Note that one (1) year of NCAA college softball playing experience will be considered.

| Preferred Qualifications |
Experience with synergy and ARMS systems.
|
| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

| Work Hours |
Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on team schedule.
|
| Physical Demands |
- Typical for coach in this sport to include ability to lift equipment or materials weight up to 25 lbs waist high.
- Ability to effectively move about to appropriately demonstrate plays and drills in this sport, as well as sideline coach during games.
