Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Athletics is searching for an Assistant Coach in its intercollegiate Softball program. This is a fixed-term (benefits eligible), one year position.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Assist Coaching Staff with skill instruction, student-athlete development, community involvement, camps, practice and game coaching.
Assist in the development of a defensive position group
Provide recommendations to staff for the preparation and planning of practice sessions
Assist head coach with scouting, video management, and game preparation
Assist in the recruitment of student athletes. Attend off campus games for the purpose of evaluation. Assist as needed in corresponding with prospective student-athletes.
Assists as needed with travel arrangements for team. Assist with the maintenance of internal team statistics, scouting reports and game plans.
Interact with various campus offices and departments in a continuous relationship building capacity.

You should demonstrate:
Flexibility in teaching methods and communication styles to connect with players
Overall understanding of the game to assist in teaching progressions of drills during daily practice
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
1-3 years athletic coaching experience required
1-3 years leadership experience required
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
