Job Description:
Responsible for helping the Head Softball Coach with duties such as planning and execution of practice, team travel and budgetary monitoring, recruiting future prospective athletes, camps and clinics, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the Athletic Department
Job Duties:
Ensures the well-being and safety of student athletes participating in all Trinity University activities or the softball program’s events.
Coaches, recruits, video edits, makes travel arrangements, monitors the budget, team camps and clinics, field work and maintenance.
Recruits qualified prospective student-athletes according to Trinity University Admissions Office guidelines.
Monitors currently enrolled student athletes’ eligibility to compete by maintaining Trinity University and the NCAA’s required academic standards.
Assumes position of second assignment in the athletic department as determined by the Director of Athletics.
Teaches activity classes, as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Develops a schedule of contests for each season and makes appropriate arrangements for all necessary team travel needs.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Abides by NCAA Division III Softball rules and regulations.
Remains “on-call” for student-athletes needs 24/7, nights and weekends. Requires extensive travel and time during the regular season and during the recruiting season.
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
Preferred:
Master's degree or equivalent from four-year college or university.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
1 to 3 years.
Preferred:
Over 5 years.
Varsity intercollegiate playing experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Ability to teach the fundamentals of the game.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to use computers.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
First Aid and CPR certification
