The Assistant Spirit Coach assists the Director of Spirit with TCU Showgirls practices and/or performances by attending rehearsals and home football, volleyball, basketball games and other performances as required.
The Assistant Spirit Coach assists the Director of Spirit with TCU Showgirls practices and/or performances by attending rehearsals and home football, volleyball, basketball games and other performances as required.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 4 years collegiate dance team experience.
• Previous teaching experience in dance technique and performance at the elite or collegiate level.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable under the University Motor Vehicle requirements.
• UCA staff and/or other collegiate game day cheer program experience.
• Knowledge of basic advising and counseling techniques.
• Knowledge and understanding of college student development and learning.
• Knowledge of crowd involvement and safety measures.
• Skill in planning and organizing.
• Skill in communication, presentation and interpersonal techniques.
• Ability to adhere to and support university spirit squad priorities, philosophy and guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 15 pounds.
• Work is indoors and outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This is an on campus, in-person position.
• Some travel is required as scheduled by the Spirit Director.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to loud.
