The Assistant Spirit Squad Coach is a part-time position responsible for assisting the Head Spirit Squad Coach with practices, football and basketball games, clinics, recruiting qualified student-athletes, fundraising, organization and inventory of program gear, building community support, and monitoring student-athlete academic progress.
Supervision Received/Exercised:
This position reports to the Head Spirit Squad Coach and has no supervisory responsibilities.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Attend all practices and games
- Assist with recruiting efforts and evaluation of qualified student-athletes
- Develop and implement fundraising initiatives to support the program
- Monitor student-athletes’ academic schedules, grades, and overall progress
- Promote and model good sportsmanship and enforce appropriate team behavior
- Assist athletic administration with alumni relations initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all College, team, NCAA Division III, and USA Cheer rules and regulations

- Positively represent Alma College in all community, media, and recruiting interactions
- Support the mission and philosophy of Alma College and the athletic department
- Foster student-athlete development as engaged members of the campus and broader community
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Spirit Squad Coach or Athletics Director
