The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will play a crucial role in supporting the Directors of Football Strength and Conditioning and Olympic Sports Performance in implementing and managing all facets of the strength and conditioning programs for NCAA Division I athletes.
• Design, implementation and scheduling of a sports performance program that is specific to this position’s assigned sports including strength, power, speed, agility, conditioning work, and more.
• Oversee all aspects of nutrition for this position’s assigned sports.
• Work with sports medicine to help reduce the risk of injury and to help develop return to play plans if injuries occur.
• Utilize technologies to help train and evaluate athletes including but not limited to Velocity Based Training, GPS, Timing Systems, and more.

• Maintain weight room equipment to ensure a clean and safe workspace for the student athletes.
• Work with other areas of campus such as the College of Health Sciences and the Business and Sport Analytics Programs to provide internship opportunities for our students and to assist with data collection and breakdown.
• Assist with all aspects of Project Samson as directed.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferred to be in an exercise science related field.
• Experience at the college level is preferred.
• Must have either the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
• Must be certified or able to be certified in first aid, CPR, and AED.
• This position could require long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
• Individual must have the ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends as needed.
• The individual in this position must be able to lift 100 pounds or more routinely.
• Data analytics and sports science experience
• Experience working with specific sports at the collegiate level
• Computer literacy
• Strong communication skills
