Principia is looking for an Assistant Sports Turf and Landscape Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of sports turf, landscape, and ornamental trees for Principia School.

Primary Responsibilities
Assist in preparation of an annual sports turf and landscape plan for the campus including maintenance, mowing, fertilization, and herbicide and seeding program
Assist in preparation of budget forecast for landscape, sports turf maintenance, and development
Documents and reports on the maintenance activities for each sports field
Responsible for proper maintenance and upkeep of the school’s athletic fields and turf
Responsible for the repairs of irrigations systems
Processes work orders through a web-based work request system
Clean parking lots, roads, school entrances, play areas as necessary to maintain clean, well-kept and welcoming appearance free of debris;
Assist in snow/ice storm preparations and removal
Assigns daily/weekly tasks schedules for employees
Performs both preventative tree pruning and maintenance pruning of ornamental and large trees
Responsible for the daily documentation and scouting of all landscape and sport turf and weekly reporting
Serves as Supervisor in absence of Sports Turf & Landscape Supervisor

Three years experience maintaining both cool and warm season sports turf and landscape at a high level
Experience with fertilization, aeration, mowing, irrigation, top dressing, etc. to achieve a high-level playing surface
Experience with synthetic field maintenance on both infill and padded fields
Experience in tree removal, stump grinding, and proficient with skid steers, sprayers, reel mowers, tractors, and large area mowers
Experience in the evaluation of turf and plant conditions for diseases, pests, and overall health
Experience in applying foliar fertilizers, fungicides, and selective herbicides to maintain high quality sports fields
Experience in maintaining football, baseball, softball, and soccer fields required by Athletics within budget
Must be able to obtain, within 6 months of employment or have a current Missouri applicators license
Must have a current infraction-free driver license
Must pass a physical with no physical limitations on bending, stooping, climbing, walking and lifting
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
