Position Description

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Performance, Health and Wellness, the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach/Athletic Scheduling Coordinator will assist in the training and motivation of student-athletes to maximize their potential for athletic performance and injury prevention. The Assistant S/C Coach/ Athletic Scheduling Coordinator will, in conjunction with coaches and athletic trainers, organize and design strength, power, speed, agility and flexibility programs for assigned sports; maintain safety, hygiene, and efficiency of the Fitness Center; create and supervise schedules and team workouts. This position will also be responsible for assisting in the supervision, staffing and management of the campus fitness center and be involved with all campus wellness directives assigned by the Assoc Ad for Performance, Health and Wellness. Additionally, the position will have oversight of the athletic scheduling for the Athletic Department. This role will coordinate, reserve and manage all athletic scheduling of our facilities for team practices, games and athletic events.

  • Develop and implement sport specific, scientifically based strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams.
  • Have the knowledge and understanding of the rules and regulations of the NCAA and any conferences of which Eastern University is a member.
  • Work cooperatively with coaches and the Sports Medicine staff to plan, organize, implement and supervise successful year-round sport-specific strength training and conditioning programs.
  • Stay abreast of all current trends, breakthroughs and developments in the science of nutrition, speed, strength, and conditioning.
  • Assist varsity student-athletes with rehabilitation programs prescribed and designed by physicians, physical therapists and athletic trainers from the Sports Medicine staff.
