Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Athletics is searching for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Carnegie Mellon has a world-renowned reputation with core values that reflect its commitment to hiring and retaining individuals with a diversity of talents, perspectives and experiences. A national research university, Carnegie Mellon is a member of the NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports program. Applicant will work with a variety of sports and should have a working knowledge of basic weight training, plyometric, and speed development exercises. This is a full-time, 10-month position from August through May with off-months in the summer.
Core responsibilities will include:
Direct coaching and implement training programs for the following men’s and women’s sports: golf, tennis, cross country, volleyball, and softball
Collaborate and provide coaching assistant with the follow sports: football and men’s and women’s diving, as well as other sports as the schedule demands
Supervise and distribute first-year development training program
Direct weight room orientations for first year athletes upon arrival to campus
Maintain and review weight room equipment and inventory
Participate in the management of the graduate and undergraduate internship program
Collaborate, design, and distribute summer training manuals to all student athletes
Collect baseline assessment of power, strength, speed, fitness, and mobility of all student-athletes
Capture and devise content to enhance the sport performance website
Oversee and organize online strength and conditioning software
Teach weight training course in the Physical Education Program as needed

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
1-3 years of experience required and/or 1,000 hours of experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning program
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
CSCS or CSCCA certification required
