Position Summary: The part-time temporary Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist with the overall planning and direction of the strength and conditioning program.
Essential Functions:
Will work in conjunction with Athletic Trainers to properly monitor injured athletes and provide proper direction as they return from injury.
Assist with assessing and evaluating individual athlete’s needs to develop a strength and conditioning plan accordingly. With help monitor and adjust plans as necessary to optimize athletic performance.
Monitor workouts to ensure activities are completed correctly, to ensure effectiveness and minimize the risk of injury. Assist with developing and maintaining training records for each athlete to facilitate assessment and adjustments to training regimes.
Educate student athletes about training and nutrition to help them adopt a holistic approach to conditioning and physical development. Assist with the scheduling of workouts to ensure the availability of the training facility.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field.
Daily use of weight equipment and standard office equipment.
Proven ability to work effectively with college athletes and demonstrated proper exercise techniques.
Current certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to pick up and maneuver weight room equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
