The Athletics Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Assistant Strength Coach. The goal of the athletic performance program is to reduce the likelihood and severity of athletic injuries, and to enhance on-field performance.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position is responsible for the physical development sessions for student-athletes. This position also serves as a resource for sport coaches to enhance the overall athletic performance of their teams.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Design, implement, monitor, and modify athletic performance programs for assigned teams.
• Engage in regular communication with athletic performance staff, sports medicine staff, sport coaching staffs, and all relevant stakeholders of assigned teams to develop and coordinate strategies to optimize student-athlete health and performance.
• Assist in the implementation of athletic performance programs for non-assigned teams.
• Engage in professional development activities with the goal of staying informed on the latest research and best practices in the athletic performance field.
• Assist with intern development program.
• Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of athletic performance facilities and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
• Must possess and maintain one of the following certifications:
  • CSCS through the NSCA
  • SCCC through the CSCCa
