UCF Athletics - Sports Performance

 

Summary:

Position assists in the day-to-day management of the strength and conditioning program within Athletics, University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations, with emphasis on injury prevention, nutrition, and enhanced sport specific athletic performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops / implements of pre-season, in-season, and off-season strength and conditioning programming for assigned position groups within football under the guidelines / protocols set forth by associated governing bodies (NSCA, CSCCa).  Researches and activates best industry practices / strategies / programming towards the achievement of individual and team goals / objectives related to area of assignment.

  • Teaches student-athletes proper methods of exercise geared towards injury prevention and enhancement of strength, speed, conditioning and flexibility.  Includes demonstration where appropriate

  • Actively provides an environment of learning / growth, managing the safety and conduct of student-athletes while in sports performance facilities

  • Collaborates with assigned position coaches in the assessment and development / implementation / monitoring of programming towards individual / team goals related to injury mitigation and enhanced sports performance.  Includes the acclimation of student-athletes to programming as well as customization of programming to meet individual and positional needs.

  • Collaborates with assigned position coaches in the development, implementation and tracking of short term and long term testing / assessment protocols and results.
