Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Master’s degree. Experience in strength and conditioning at an intercollegiate Division I institution. Either CSCS or CSCCa certification along with CPR certifications.
Assist the Director of Strength & Conditioning with all areas of training including weight programs, conditioning drills, and administrative duties as assigned. Assist the Director of Strength & Conditioning in managing all areas of the program and assist with supervising 16000 sq. ft. weight room, interns, graduate assistants and hourly staff. Design, implement, and monitor sport specific weight training and conditioning programs for football. Provide instruction in proper lifting techniques; monitor progress of athletes through computer charting and analysis of daily training; counsel athletes in dietary habits. The incumbent will have knowledge of NCAA and/or SEC rules and agree to adhere to same.
Teach, define, and administer strength & conditioning programs for football. Ability to program, implement, and monitor sport specific weight training and conditioning programs for assigned sports.; monitor progress of athletes through computer charting and analysis of daily training; counsel athletes in dietary habits. Ability to communicate proficiently with individuals within and outside the University by telephone and email. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to interact with individuals at all levels. Display the ability to relate and communicate with student-athletes; work with the coaching staff; coordinate scheduling.
The employee will regularly stand; walk; use hands and reach with arms and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level during practice and sporting events can reach a high decibel level. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, and peripheral vision.
