POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Superintendent II. This position is responsible for regular and routine maintenance of the golf course grounds and facilities at the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida. Responsibilities include fertilizer and pesticide calibration and application, and irrigation control and maintenance. Supervises the Golf Maintenance department in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Four years of golf course related experience and/or training

*

Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds

Ability to work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Turf Grass Management or a related field

Florida Restricted Use Pesticide Applicators License

Experience with warm season turf grass and application of fertilizers and pesticides

An Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of education and experience requirements.
