Job Description

The University of Sioux Falls is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Women’s Swimming Coach position. USF is affiliated with NCAA Division II and is part of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. This is a full-time, year-round position with a competitive salary commensurate with education, experience, and a robust benefits package.

Job Description

The Assistant Swimming Coach reports directly to the Head Swimming Coach and the Director of Athletics. The role involves supporting all facets of the collegiate swimming program, including functioning as the recruiting coordinator. Responsibilities include aiding the head coach in daily team operations, organizing and conducting swimming camps, and focusing on athlete development in various areas such as skill enhancement in the pool, academic support, and mental training. Other responsibilities include recruitment, equipment upkeep, arranging travel, managing academic and community service activities, and adherence to NCAA compliance rules.

Qualifications

The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree and have a strong commitment to academic excellence. Applicants must possess expertise in coaching swimming or experience in competitive swimming, proven success in recruiting student-athletes, and excellent motivational, organizational, and communication skills. A proactive approach and a high standard of personal and professional conduct are essential. This position requires the individual to have the ability to thrive within a Christian higher education environment and to adhere to all related NCAA DII, Northern Sun Conference, and university policies.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. The role requires travel, a valid driver’s license, the ability to pass a background check, lift up to 40 lbs., and legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
