Apply NowResponsible for being an Assistant Coach of the Synchronized Skating program including on and off-ice coaching. To help conduct the synchronized skating program in a safe and professional manner, and within all rules and regulations of Miami University, the NCAA, US Figure Skating, ISU and other appropriate governing bodies.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Participates in the administration and organization of the Synchronized Skating program, to include:
● Assisting the head coach with on and off-ice coaching, practice planning, music selection, costume design, choreography, video breakdown and competition analysis for all teams.
● Assist in the recruitment of student athletes
● Assist in coordinating team travel (according to the team travel budget)
● Assist in monitoring
● Strength & Conditioning programs
● Academic support programs
● Off-ice Dance programs
● Equipment inventory, ordering and maintenance (according to the budget)
● Assist in planning team banquets & events
● Assist with media relations
● Assist with alumni relations
● Assist with team practice scheduling and calendaring
● Compliance with all university, ISU and US Figure Skating rules & regulations, as well as any applicable NCAA and MAC requirements
● Performs other duties as designated by the Head Coach.
● Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Administration
● Option to teach Private Lessons
Bachelor's Degree
US Figure Skating Compliance Coach
National-level synchronized skating coaching and/or skating experience
PSA Certified Rating or equivalent experience
International-level synchronized skaing coaching and/or skating experience
Experience working in a university environment
Current knowledge of the ISU Judging System for Synchronized Skating
