The Assistant Track & Field Coach - Throws will assist the men’s and women’s track & field programs with the daily operational tasks. The position will be involved in every aspect of both programs, including, but not limited to, recruiting, practice planning, academic monitoring, event operations, travel planning, and other areas assigned by the Track & Field head coach.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful track & field program at the NAIA level.
Supporting the track & field head coach with recruiting, including identifying prospective student-athletes and performing campus tours.
Assisting the track & field head coach in practice planning and event preparation.
Assist the head coach with team travel, housing, and meals.
Assist the track & field head coach in teaching all basic and advanced skills required in the sport during individual skill sessions, team practices, and strength/conditioning sessions.
Facilitating athletic department community service and fundraising events.
Oversee administrative processes and procedures as assigned.
Serve as a leader, mentor, and role-model to the student-athletes of the athletic department.
Any other duties assigned by the Athletic Administration.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Previous experience as a student-athlete or employment within a collegiate track & field program.
Ability to frequently work weekends and nights.
Strong organizational skills with an ability to effectively multi-task is essential.
Travel is necessary with a valid driver’s license required.
Ability to successfully pass a background check also required.
