RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the sprints and jumps coach by providing guidance and instruction to the student-athletes
• Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the athletic department and institution, as well as the GNAC and NCAA
• Coordinate with the athletic training staff and the strength and conditioning coaches
• Ensure the safety for all by following prudent protocols during practice, as well as through careful monitoring of the equipment and facilities utilized by the team
• Assist in the recruiting of prospective student-athletes, particularly in the jumping events
• Ensure full compliance with NCAA guidelines in all aspects of the recruiting process
• Complete all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs and participate in available professional development opportunities
• Assisting the Head Coach in all phases of the sports program
• Assisting in recruiting
• Adhering to and enforcing all policies and procedures of the Department of Athletics and College

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS:

• The indoor track and field season begins in late October/early November and ends in early March
• The outdoor track and field season begins in late March and ends in early May
• Practices are typically from 3:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, however, some flexibility is necessary due to indoor facility usage from other athletic teams when using off campus facilities during the winter
• Most track & field meets are on Saturdays while a couple are on Sunday

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Prior coaching experience is a priority; college experience preferred, but not required
• First Aid, CPR, AED (these can be completed after hire, but should be completed prior to the season)
