As the assistant coach, this position will assist the head coach in recruiting, preparing student-athletes for competition, practice, game strategy, ensuring academic success, engaging in public relations activities within the community, and administrative functions as assigned by the head coach. This position includes but it not limited to the following.
Participate in fundraising activities, camps, clinics, and additional athletic department-required activities as assigned by the Head Coach, The Director of Athletics, or other University Administrators.
Assist with on and off-campus recruiting, including parent and student liaison and all documentation.
Assist head coach in developing technical skill sets for players.
Analyzes performance and instructs participants in program strategies and techniques to prepare for competitions.
Observe players to determine any individual or team improvements.
Assist in the completion of all administrative and team travel documentation.
Acting liaison for student-athlete academic development and success, including monitoring academic progress and study hall.
Ensures adherence to all governing rules, university, department, SSAC Conference, NAIA (policies, procedures, and compliance.)
Represents and promotes professional conduct, university good will, and high standards at all events and matches.
Assist with and supervise strength and conditioning program.
Assist in the recruitment of perspective athletes within the framework of the university, department, conference, and current NAIA bylaws and manual.
Oversee all social media applications and create a plan aligning with UT Southern and the volleyball program brand and goals.
Experience: Three (3) years of collegiate, high school, professional or club volleyball coaching experience and/or collegiate playing experience.
