Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach
Chatham University is accepting applications for an Assistant Men’s Volleyball Coach.
The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing effective leadership and day-to-day management of the Men’s Volleyball program under the direction of the Head Coach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the men’s volleyball program. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Assist Head Coach with practice/match planning, preparation, and execution
Attend all practices, matches, team events/meetings, camps, and clinics
Assist Head Coach in teaching specific skills specific to sport and academic success
Identify potential recruits at high school matches/tournaments and club tournaments
Attend matches and tournaments that coaches plan to market Chatham/Volleyball program

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the men’s volleyball program. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Assist Head Coach with practice/match planning, preparation, and execution
Attend all practices, matches, team events/meetings, camps, and clinics
Assist Head Coach in teaching specific skills specific to sport and academic success
Identify potential recruits at high school matches/tournaments and club tournaments
Attend matches and tournaments that coaches plan to market Chatham/Volleyball program
Initiate contact with recruits and HS/Club coaches via email and phone conversations
Use Front Rush to organize recruits and track all communication and status updates
Assist Head Coach with on-campus recruiting visits and events
Communicate with Chatham admissions department on prospective student-athletes
Assist Head Coach in retention of academically qualified student-athletes
Upload match film to HUDL and conference pool upon match conclusion
Analyze our own matches for ways to improve offensively and defensively during breakdowns with team/individual groups
Contact other teams for footage on opponents. Analyze opponent’s film and put together competent scouting reports
Provide individual academic and athletic feedback and guidance to student-athletes
Provide a positive environment and be a positive role-model for student-athletes
Assist Head Coach in scheduling, transportation, lodging, and meal accommodations
Fundraising: Assist Head Coach in all aspects of organizing, implementing, and working fundraising events; including all summer camps and clinics
Equipment: Assist Head Coach in inventory, care, and ordering of program equipment
Update all volleyball program social media accounts
Other duties that are consistent with the nature of the position as requested by Head Coach or Athletics Director
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree
Prior successful playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred; successful high school or club coaching experience considered
Commitment to developing positive relationships with students, student-athletes, coaches, administration, and the greater Chatham/Pittsburgh community
Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
