Duties and Responsibilities (* denotes essential functions):
Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university;
One (1) year experience coaching water polo at the collegiate or university level;
or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Knowledge of water polo as competed at the collegiate level.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Ability to work outside normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend and /or holiday hours as directed.
Ability to travel with the team as required.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner. Required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
First Aid, CPR and AED certification within 45 days of employment start date.
Lifeguard certification within 45 days of employment start date.
Computer, cell phone, and social media technology competency. Desirable Qualifications:
Successful Division I water polo coaching experience
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity, understanding and working effectively in multicultural societies, similar to Hawai‘i, contributing to an inclusive environment.
