Job Description

Responsibilities

If you’re energized by teaching the game the right way—and just as committed to a student-athlete’s degree as her development—this role is for you. As Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Johnson C. Smith University, you’ll help shape a competitive, cohesive program that reflects JCSU’s values: toughness, unity, and academic excellence. You’ll have a real voice in daily practice design, scouting and game planning, recruiting strategy, and culture-building. You’ll also gain broad operations experience—from travel and logistics to communications and social media—so you’re growing as a complete coach and future program leader. Expect meaningful relationships, a collaborative staff, and a chance to make visible impact on and off the court.

What You’ll Do

Coaching & Player Development

  • Provide on-court instruction; assist with practice planning, weekly scouts, game-day prep, and in-game adjustments.
