The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator-2nd Assistant will assist in the coaching and training of student-athletes at the
NCAA
Division I level to prepare them for competition, adhering to the
UIW
mission and core values by acting upon its goals and strategies. This role will also lead all program recruiting efforts. Position works in accordance with University of the Incarnate Word, Southland Conference, and
NCAA
rules and regulations. The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator-2nd Assistant will reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

- Lead all women’s basketball efforts in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
- Coordinate recruiting visits and maintain scholarship offers, recruiting targets and commitments, updating the coaching staff on recruiting issues and communicating eligibility and/or admissions status with prospective student-athletes and coaching staff.
- Manage the logistical planning of recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
- Coordinate transportation, hotel accommodations, meals, tours, game tickets and game day recruiting functions.
- Serve as liaison with the University Admissions Office and the Athletics Compliance Office.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

- Ability to identify and participate in resolution of departmental/institutional problems with continuous quality improvement as a goal.
- Ability to successfully enhance Women’s Basketball team effectiveness through coaching.
- Exhibit good judgment in advising and counseling student-athletes.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Bachelor’s Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
Three (3) years of college women’s basketball coaching experience.

Master’s Degree.

Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on team schedule.

Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
