Job Description

The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks a self-motivated, results-oriented individuals with the knowledge, ability and interpersonal skills required to serve as Assistant Women’s Gymnastics Coach - a full-time position, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, including full University benefits. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 230 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing administrative, instructional and coaching assistance to the Head Coach with the purpose of building a successful, competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent);
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience coaching and/or combined coaching and competitive experience at the NCAA or Level 10/Elite Level;
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated through public speaking engagements, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques;
  • Extensive knowledge of and the ability to

    • Effectively teach the techniques of all four events
    • Safely and effectively spot student-athletes on all four events
