Mount St. Mary's University has 2 open positions for part-time Assistant Women's Rugby Coach. This is an administrative position, appointed by, and serves at the will and pleasure of the President of Mount St. Mary’s University. The Assistant Coach for Women’s Rugby directly reports to the Head Coachand workswith the Department of Athletics personnel. This individual will assist in overseeing all non-tuition revenue as it relates to the university athletic department. The Assistant Coach for Women’s Rugby assists in the teaching of sport of rugby to student-athletes, and provides coaching, recruitment, and retention of Women’s Rugby players for the University. This individual must be results-oriented and demonstrate a commitment to the Catholic, liberal arts mission of the University and a working knowledge or previous experience with a Catholic population.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Some of the major responsibilities include:

Women’s Rugby Program:

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and direction of all phases of Mount St. Mary’s Women’s Rugby program, including:Coaching, Recruiting, Fundraising, Budget planning, Travel arrangement, Inventory.
• Work closely with other Women’s Rugby staff members on scheduling, both in and out of season
• Provide technical and tactical training to individual players and mini units within the team, as delegated by the Head Coach Assist in the development, management, and accountability of team protocols and standards

Women’s Rugby Events:

• Assist in the planning, staffing and implementation of special events around the major university events and other Athletics events
• Coordinate and provide support at various alumni, parent, and donor events.

Mentorship:

• Provide mentorship to players and work closely with other Women’s Rugby staff members to develop quality coaching techniques for all sides

Accountability:

• Attendance at weekend and evening events as well as extensive travel. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach Respect and abide by University and NIRA rules and regulations

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

The appointed individual will:

• Have a Bachelor'sDegree
• Have played and/or coached rugby at a high level
