To support the Head Women’s Soccer Coach in establishing and successfully coaching a Soccer program within the guidelines of the Grand View University Athletic Department that adheres to the mission of the University.
Essential Functions of Job:
Assist the Head Soccer Coach in developing a successful Soccer Program.
Conduct recruitment activities in accordance with NAIA rules and regulations.
Establish an effective schedule for practices and games.
Organize and help conduct all Soccer related camps and clinics
Manage all training activities for student-athletes to ensure proper preparation for the Soccer season.
Promote attendance at Soccer events by providing information for students, faculty, staff and the public.
Assist Head Coach with all fundraising activities.
Coordinate and conduct the training activities for the varsity reserve team. Due to university class schedule and facilities availability training sessions will be conducted in late afternoon and evening.
Responsible for the recruitment and retention of student athletes for the varsity reserve team.
Multiple hour drives to five recruiting tournaments in the Midwest every year.
Driving to high school games 2-3 days a week during the Iowa High School soccer season.
Soccer equipment and inventory supervisor.
Social media postings coordinator.
Varsity and reserve team home and away food and hotel arrangements coordinator.
Perform other athletic administrative duties as assigned.
Follow University procedures associated with the purchase of equipment.
Maintain confidentiality.
Participate in continuing education.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hire, train and monitor the activities of:
Student Employees
Part-time Assistant Coaches
Working Conditions:
Bend, lift, sit and stand as required to meet job duties
Various travel as required
Some work is performed in a normal office setting
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Successful coaching experience at the high school or college level required.
Ability to interact with students, parents, admission staff, and the public in a positive way.
