Job Description Summary
Assist the Head Women’s Soccer Coach in overseeing the direction of the
Varsity Women’s Soccer program at the NCAA Division II level. This includes
duties such as recruitment, practice/game preparation, practice/game
implementation of coaching principles, fund raising, promotions, public and
alumni relations and other areas assigned by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach.
Must be able to make an immediate positive impact on the program. Additional
duties include teaching activity classes in the KIP department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
Plan, organize and administer the University’s Women’s Soccer program
Assist with program budget, equipment/apparel inventory, purchasing and distribution
Coordinate the recruitment of Women’s Soccer student-athletes on a national
basis, including on-campus recruit visits
training
Develop and implement Women’s Soccer practice sessions to determine needs for individual and team improvement
Collaborate with the Strength & Conditioning coaching staff to assist with in season and off season training programs
Evaluate Michigan Tech and opposing team capabilities to determine game strategy and manage/prepare team for competition; determine strategy during games in consultation with Head Coach
Coordinate travel arrangements (lodging, meals, bussing, Itinerary, etc) for team travel
Uphold university values and expectations as a staff member and mentor to student-athletes
Enhance and promote the internal and external visibility and recognition of the University and team to a variety of alumni, campus and off-campus groups
Actively organize and participate in fundraising and alumni activities
Provide necessary resources to monitor and promote the academic success of student-athletes
Act as social media liaison for Women’s Soccer Program
Represent and act on behalf of the University as directed by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director
Teach activity classes in the Department of Kinesiology and Integrative Physiology

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)
● Bachelor’s Degree
● Experience coaching and/or playing collegiate soccer
● Masters Degree
● US Soccer C License or higher (or equivalent licensure with NSCAA and UEFA)
● Experience coaching and/or playing Women’s Collegiate Soccer at the NCAA DI, DII, DIII or NAIA level
● Familiarity with Midwest soccer
● Experience using personal computers and basic software packages such as google docs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)
● Demonstrated commitment to holistic development of student-athletes at the youth or collegiate level ensuring a positive experience where student-athlete welfare is paramount.
● Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and enthusiastic team attitude
● Experience with film editing, office software and soccer specific video analysis software
● Excellent professional, interpersonal, communication, organizational and administrative skills
● Superior written and oral communication and public relations skills
● Ability to run training sessions (individual, small groups, team and goalie)
● Mental agility and dedication to ingenuity
● Demonstrated strong work ethic
● Demonstrated commitment to comply with all NCAA rules and regulations
● Demonstrated excellent decision making capabilities
