Duties:

30% of time -  Instruct and teach student-athletes in fundamentals of sport technique and strategy.

• Plan and execute practice and competition plans. 
• Assist in film breakdown, analysis of film breakdown, & scouting of opponents.
• Set up & execute additional small group functional & individual training sessions.

 

30% of time - Evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to the University of Minnesota whose athletic skills make them highly competitive in the Big Ten and whose academic abilities make them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from the University of Minnesota. 

• Maintain JumpForward Database
• Travel to games/events to evaluate potential student-athletes
• Consistent communication with potential student-athletes, club coaches, etc. throughout the process.
• Other recruiting duties as assigned by head coach

 

40% of time – Positively contribute to continued development of our program’s culture.

• Serve as a positive leader who earns the respect of the student-athletes, holds our high standards, and demonstrates an unwavering work ethic.
• Perform administrative responsibilities as assigned by head coach.   
• Provide opportunities for student-athletes to develop life and leadership skills under the direction of the head coach. 
• Assist in monitoring the academic performance of student-athletes to help them reach their full potential. 
• Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, donors, alumni, club & high school coaches, media and the general public. 
• Assist in advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity
• Commit to adhering to all rules and regulations of the Department, the University, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

Required :

• Bachelor’s degree 
• 3-5  yrs experience coaching at Division 1, MLS, NWSL or other high level environment
• Valid Driver’s License

 

Preferred:

• Professional playing experience
• Demonstrated track record of coaching high level players
• Technical and tactical proficiency
