Statement of the Job :

Assists the Head Coach for Women’s Soccer with all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and training for athletic competition at the Division I level. Adheres to all governing procedures and regulations of the Athletic Department, University, Conference and the NCAA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in the evaluation, identification, recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the Women’s Soccer Program in accordance with University, Conference and NCAA guidelines and standards. Maintains accurate records of recruiting activities as required.
• Assists with training with a focus on goalkeepers. Ensures that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
• Scouts opposing teams and analyzes film in order to create practice and game strategies.
• Develops and maintains professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility and mutual respect.
• Commits to organizational improvement by identifying opportunities to improve, recommending possible alternatives for a situation.
• Utilizes coaching and mentoring methods which provide an environment that is anticipatory, supportive and encourages constructive feedback on performance.
• Monitor academic progress, including advising, mentoring and instructing as assigned.
• Represents the University to external groups through public speaking appearances.
• Other reasonably related duties as assigned by the head coach.

Qualifications :

Required:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Excellent organizational, oral and written skills.
• At least one-year coaching goalkeepers at either the collegiate, professional or Olympic level
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor & motivate student athletes.
• Ability to travel (normally requiring a valid driver's license).
