Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist the head coach in the day to day operations of the women's tennis program. Work includes: Coaching and player development, stringing, video support, as well as other duties assigned by Head Coach.

This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Coaching Responsibilities:

• The Assistant Coach will help in developing a practice plan for each individual team member, assisting players in competitions, tracking student athletes’ progress and making needed adjustments throughout the season.
• The assistant coach will focus on player development throughout the year both on and off the course.

Team Management:

• Assistant Coach will help coordinate and assist head coach with team travel, academics, community outreach, and student-athlete issues

Video Analysis:

• Assistant coach will handle set up and break down of match film. Help prepare devices to record practices and matches.
• Meet with coaching staff and players to analyze match film and prepare for upcoming matches.
• Compile data to help prepare for team and individual practices

Administrative Duties:

• Ability to be an efficient stringer.

What You Should Know

• This is a part time 40% time position.
• There are some weekends and irregular hours based on practices and competitions.

What We Can Offer

Starting salary is $30,000.00.

What We Require

• Bachelor's degree. One year of NCAA tennis coaching or playing experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.

What You Will Need

• Possess and demonstrate excellent verbal, written, organizational, management and administrative skills.
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, faculty, alumni, and administrative staff.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of the Rules of Tennis.
• Knowledge of general university policies and procedures.
• Ability to prepare and conduct training for student-athletes.

What We Would Like You to Have

• Three years of NCAA tennis coaching or playing experience required.
