Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Head Volleyball Coach, provide coaching support and assistance of the Volleyball program.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coaching (55%)

• Assist in the coaching of Volleyball student-athletes, including practices, workouts, and games.

• Lead the coaching of a particular position group as directed by Head Volleyball Coach.

Student-Athlete Development (20%)

• Emphasize student-athlete academic achievement in all program operations.

• Supervise student-athlete conduct.

• Observe all compliance rules and regulations and ensure all volleyball student-athletes do the same.

Program Development and Leadership (20%)

• Assist Head Coach in all aspects of Volleyball program, including budget and finances, fundraising, scheduling, and more.

• Coordinate team travel as needed.

• Serve in the place of the Head Coach as needed.

Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

• Performs other duties as assigned by Head Volleyball Coach and Vice President, Athletics & Recreation.

• Responsible for adhering to and orienting student-athletes to the policies and regulations of the NCAA, Southland Conference, University of Louisiana System, and University New Orleans.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 2 years of volleyball coaching experience or four years collegiate playing experience.

• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Southland Conference, University of Louisiana System, and University New Orleans

• Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel, as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree

• 5 years of volleyball experience in a college athletics department

• Working knowledge of NCAA and Southland Conference rules and regulations
