Job Description

The University of Southern Maine seeks applicants for the temporary position ofAssistant Women’s Volleyball Coachon the Gorham Campus.

Core Duties:

• Assist the head coach in teaching skills and strategies for volleyball in the traditional and non-traditional seasons
• Coach volleyball team members individually and in groups, and demonstrate appropriate game techniques
• Planning and directing portions of team practices to encourage and develop student-athlete skills and game techniques
• Develop and recommend strategy, teach theoretical skills, and position assignments
• Help with recruitment of athletes
• Adhere to and support all rules, conditions, and regulations in place at USM and the NCAA
• Video breakdown
• Stat tracking
• Other duties delegated by the Head Coach

Hours must be flexible to attend away games and varied practice times. Schedule beginsmid-August through the end of the season. Non-traditional season is four to five weeks in the spring.

This is a part-time temporary position that will compensate up to $2,300 for the season and may vary depending on the selected candidate's availability and time commitment.

Required Qualifications:

• Four years or equivalent collegiate playing experience.
• Bachelors preferred.
• Knowledge and ability to work with college aged volleyball players.
