POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate AD/Compliance independently coordinates, plans, organizes and implements all monitoring systems of the Athletics Compliance program, along with developing and implementing comprehensive and continuing NCAA and conference rules-education programs and procedures.  The position also plays a strong role in enforcing University, conference, and NCAA regulations, to include all independent investigations and recommendations to Sr Assoc. AD/Chief of Staff of noncompliance.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Monitors recruiting activities (20%)

  • On a daily basis verifies that all coaches have accurate records regarding recruiting telephone calls, correspondence, and contacts/evaluations.
  • Independently checks above records for compliance with NCAA Bylaw 13 and makes judgments as to whether there was a reportable violation.
  • Responsible for ensuring coaches’ recruiting travel is compliant with NCAA rules by cross-checking travel expense reports and recruiting logs to ensure activities took place during appropriate recruiting periods and within overall NCAA limits.
  • Delivers interpretations of Bylaw 13 on which coaches rely and off of which they base decisions.
  • Develops and enforces new monitoring strategies on an ongoing basis.
  • Compiles rules violation reports for Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief of Staff which include facts/findings and recommendations for penalties/sanctions and communicates penalties/sanctions to appropriate staff.
