The Associate Director, Communications is responsible for overseeing communications and content efforts for select University of Miami NCAA Division I teams and strategically promoting those programs in concert with the communications, digital, design and video departments to elevate the Miami Hurricanes brand across all communications channels.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                     

  • Serve as the primary communications representative for Miami Hurricanes baseball, consisting of writing recaps and releases, serving as media liaison to local and national media, managing statistics, records and archives, overseeing press operations at home games, submitting award nominations, editing publications, updating official website, creating content for social media distribution and managing social media channels.
  • Serve as the secondary communications representative for Miami Hurricanes football, consisting of media relations duties that include interviews, press releases, printed materials, gameday operations, social media management and general management of football public relations strategy in tandem with the Associate AD / Communications.
  • Manage the credential process for Miami Hurricanes football, including communicating with local and national media, facilitating the distribution of season and single-game credentials and parking and overseeing press box operations on gameday.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental rules.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Communications.
