This position will be responsible for ensuring effective coordination of marketing priorities of the athletic department which includes (but is not limited to) increases in attendance, revenue growth and competitive brand positioning. Additionally, the incumbent will be charged with collaborating, consulting and partnering with University Marketing and Communications so that all marketing and communications efforts support the goals of the university as a whole.
Specifically, the Associate Athletic Director will have direct oversight of the following units: Athletics Marketing and Promotions, Athletic Communications, Game Operations, and Broadcast and Interactive Media.
Actively provide strategic direction and leadership for all marketing and communications efforts in athletics.
Ensure collaborative and unified effort amongst the marketing and communications units and across the entire department.
Engage with alumni and community members to generate interest and support for athletics and our initiatives.
Organize and coordinate meetings with internal and external constituents to develop methods for stronger community engagement.
Develop and implement comprehensive a marketing plan to increase attendance at all home athletics events; create and organize advertising campaigns, in coordination with university Marketing and Communications Office.
Coordinate and manage game day event operations, including, but not limited to the direction and supervision of all in-game promotions, marketing efforts, and fulfilling all corporate sponsorship elements.
Serve as the athletics department liaison with radio networks, licensing companies, local companies, community and student groups, and departments both on and off campus.
Coordinate all social media campaigns and ticketing sales campaigns as it relates to coordinating season and game day tickets.
Oversee and manage the marketing and promotional aspects of the department, both on the website and at events.
Create and oversee all grassroots marketing efforts, including but not limited to utilizing students, coaches, staff and the community.
Assigned Sport Administrative oversight.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field.
1-3 years of Athletic Department Experience or related field.
1 year in leadership role in an Athletic Department or management experience.

Schedule
Generally, the hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
