Job Description
Serves as the overall administrator in the development and monitoring of all systems designed to ensure the University is in compliance with NCAA, Southwestern Athletic Conference and University rules.
_ This position may pay up to $87,000/annually, depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. _
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and oversight for a Comprehensive Compliance program, including coordinating athletics compliance rules education programs (i.e. conducting rules meetings, initiating orientation programs, disseminating information, initiating and preparing topics for educational meetings, preparing review sessions for departmental exams, maintaining departmental policies and procedures manual and speaking to relative constituencies). Liaison between the NCAA, Eligibility Center, Conference, and other institutions regarding compliance. Provide leadership, training, and evaluation of compliance staff members.
Performs day-to-day operations of the Compliance Office by assisting in implementing rules and providing vision and leadership for the University NCAA Compliance Unit. Performs daily Compliance operations of the athletic department to ensure strict adherence with the University, Southwestern Athletic Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations for amateurism, eligibility, financial aid, awards, benefits, playing and practice seasons, and sports camps/clinics for 18 intercollegiate sports.
Develop strategic plans and evaluate potential compliance conflicts and/or issues. Lead the university's efforts to investigate and self-report rule violations to the appropriate University, Conference, and NCAA offices. Provide a timely and accurate system of completing mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits as required by various agencies, including, but not limited to NCAA-required reporting of Financial Aid Summary, GSR, ASR, Sports Sponsorship, and Demographics.
Assists with the coordination of procedures that relate to the certification of initial and continuing eligibility and the allocation of athletics financial aid by monitoring NCAA Eligibility Center documentation for all prospective student-athletes. Collect all financial aid requests and determine financial aid allocations in accordance with NCAA scholarship limitations. Maintain NCAA squad lists and submit those to the Conference Office as required.
Submit waivers on behalf of student-athletes. Monitors student-athlete employment and NIL Deals. Oversee the clearance process for all student-athletes (including transfers), the complimentary ticket process, National Letter of Intents and renewal and non-renewal of awards, CARA, and Recruiting Logs for the department. Approve and monitor all prospective student-athlete official and unofficial visits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree.
Five years of experience in athletic administration.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge of NCAA eligibility rules and regulations.
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience in athletics administration.
Experience in drafting NCAA waivers and violations.
Experience conducting rules education presentations. Working knowledge of Cai, LSDBi, Eligibility Center, JumpForward and/or FrontRush software.
