Job Description:
The Associate Athletic Director for Athletics Compliance is responsible for compliance at Cameron University, an NCAA Division II institution in the Lone Star Conference. The Associate AD reports directly to the Director of Athletics. This is a full-time, 12-month assignment requiring physical presence and residence in Lawton, Oklahoma or the immediate surrounding area. If the successful candidate qualifies, this position may also be selected to serve as the institution’s Senior Woman Administrator (SWA), in accordance with NCAA Constitution 4.02.5. Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).
All members of the Athletic Staff are expected to be team players supporting each other while promoting the mission of the University, supporting the philosophy of the Athletic Department, and assuring the well-being of all student athletes. The Associate Athletic Director will operate in accordance with NCAA, conference and university rules, regulations and policies.
The position is available October 1, 2024.
Job Duties as the Associate Athletic Director include, but are not limited to:
serve on the Athletics Administrative Leadership team
serve as the NCAA Compliance Coordinator, further description follows
serve as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA), further description follows
supply input on the daily functions of the department
supervise professional and student assistants
active involvement in community service activities
monitor the hiring process and assure the academic success of student workers
serve as an on-site game administrator for select varsity home contests, including many during non-traditional business hours such as weeknights and weekends
participate in the coordination, organization, and implementation of athletic tournaments as well as Lone Star Conference and NCAA post-season championships
represent and attend various professional development meetings and seminars on behalf of Cameron University Athletics, including but not limited to: NCAA Regional Rules Seminars, Lone Star Conference Compliance and Council of Athletic Administrators meetings, NAAC and NCAA Conventions, Cameron University events and programs
other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Compliance Coordinator duties include but are not limited to:
prepare and maintain NCAA, conference and university compliance records as they relate to athletics
oversee the preparation and completion of eligibility reports
interpret NCAA, conference and university academic standards and eligibility qualifications
conduct rules education meetings for members of the athletic department, student athletes and boosters
provide expertise, advisement and maintain recruiting eligibility information
provide expertise to members of the athletic department and university on rules compliance and eligibility
standards for an NCAA Division II member institution
prepare NCAA squad lists and related NCAA and conference reports
track scholarship allocations, countable aid and equivalencies; maintain close work relationship with Financial
Aid Services
chair the Athletics Compliance Committee
chair the Cameron University Athletics Gender Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee
If applicable, Senior Woman Administrator duties include but are not limited to:
acts as a key decision-maker instrumentally involved with the athletic department
participates on the senior athletics management team
supports and manages gender equity and Title IX plans and issues
provides advocacy for issues important to female and male student athletes
educates individuals on issues concerning both men and women
serves as a role model and resource for student athletes, coaches, administrators, and other staff personnel
leads student athletes in successfully balancing academics and athletics
reviews Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act Report and the Gender Equity Plan
active member of key professional organizations
represents and attends various professional development meetings and seminars on behalf of Cameron University Athletics, including but not limited to: NCAA Regional Rules Seminars, Lone Star Conference Compliance and Council of Athletic Administrators meetings, NAAC and NCAA Conventions, Cameron University events and programs
instrumentally involved with the implementation of the following NCAA guiding principles at the conference and institutional levels:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required
Demonstrated experience interpreting and maintaining compliance with NCAA, state and federal laws and regulations
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other related software that allows for the efficient and effective preparation of reports
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated organizational and management ability
Strong work ethic with a team player’s positive attitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in sport management, sport administration, education or a related field
Two years or more working full-time in compliance at a NCAA DI or DII institution
Familiarity with the NCAA’s Legislative Services Database, Eligibility Center, Transfer Portal applications and SPRY Software
