CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Apply NowCollaborates with Assistant VP – Athletics Development to build, cascade, and execute an athletic philanthropy program which leverages institutional strengths to preserve and forward the athletic mission into the future.
Provides leadership to frontline fundraising team, responsible for generating the philanthropic revenue required to resource a best-in-class athletic department.
Develop, cultivate, solicit and steward a donor portfolio of 75-100 major giving prospects.
Meet impactful interaction and solicitation goals set annually by supervisor, in alignment with department priorities.
Assist in the establishment and execution of fundraising goals for applicable divisions.
Identifies prospective donors and funding sources and develops cultivation and solicitation plans.
Enlists volunteers to help identify, cultivate, and solicit other prospective donors.
Ensures regular communications and stewardship with donors, including re-solicitations, proper acknowledgement of gifts and pledge payments, reporting, visiting, and providing regular information on the progress.
Determines fundable projects and packages them appropriately for consideration by donors.
Prepares annual work plan with measurable objectives and courses of action for all relevant activities.
Documents all contacts, communications, visits, and other appropriate case history files and places pertinent information in applicable database.
Formulates appropriate fundraising budgets and revenue projections.
Supervises department staff, freelance and temporary employees, and volunteer organizations.
Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.
Develops and administers policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance with Title IX, NCAA and other athletic conference rules, regulations and risk management procedures and protocols to minimize the risk of liability.
Collaborates with University offices and community agencies in order to effectively manage assigned functions.
Supervises staff and student employees. Resolves personnel and operational issues.
Provides direct supervision to selected sports teams. Ensures fiscal soundness and compliance with intercollegiate athletics rules, regulations and procedures.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required
Experience:
7-10 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
