This position provides oversight of the external operations of the Aquinas College Athletic Department. This position oversight will include, but not limited to, responsible direction and strategic planning for increased departmental revenues, the Athletic fundraising fund, athletic communications, marketing and fan experience, special events, and additional revenue and ticket operations.
Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks/Essential Functions:
This position provides oversight of the external operations of the Aquinas College Athletic Department. This position oversight will include, but not limited to, responsible direction and strategic planning for increased departmental revenues, the Athletic fundraising fund, athletic communications, marketing and fan experience, special events, and additional revenue and ticket operations.
Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks/Essential Functions:
Development – Strategize, plan, and implement a development and fundraising program that will result in the high-level funding assistance for the Aquinas College Athletic department
Revenue Generation – Oversee development of sponsorships, partnerships, and ticket sales to develop revenue generating relationships. Ensure integration with marketing and strategic communication efforts to increase attendance and gameday experience while meeting revenue goals.
Collaboration – Partner closely with Aquinas College Institutional Advancement staff to monitor the performance of fundraising planning and overall results, including but not limited to, fundraising goals, donor management, and system maintenance. Development and management of request for proposals (RFP’s)
Administration – Work with senior leadership team, community and campus stakeholders on strategic planning and administrative operations to move the program forward.
Sport Supervision – Work with the senior leadership team to oversee assigned sports.
Supervision of Athletic Communications department and external communication
Oversight of special events including Hall of Fame, Saint Slam
Responsible for administrative and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Prepares the Title IX Equity in Athletics Report.
Prepares the NAIA End of Year Report.
Bachelor’s Degree Required (Masters Preferred) Sport Management, Business Administration, Athletic Administration or related field background preferred
Five years in a Collegiate athletic administrative and/or coaching position preferred
Three years of Revenue generation and/or fundraising experience
Decision-Making Skills: Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding budgets, contracts, and highly sensitive information
Attention to Detail:Must have excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
Work is in medium demand. Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.
Must be able to function effectively in a busy environment with interruptions.
Constant use of computer and telephone.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
