Job Summary

 

Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of all policies and procedures relative to a comprehensive compliance program which includes, but is not limited to: recruiting; eligibility; financial aid; playing and practice seasons; amateurism; extra benefits, name/image/likeness, etc.; Develop a comprehensive compliance education program to ensure that all coaches, staff, campus personnel, donors, and other necessary individuals have appropriate knowledge of applicable NCAA/conference rules and regulations; Interpret NCAA and conference rules and regulations for conference staff, coaches, student-athletes, boosters and community members; Responsible for investigating and reporting any violations of NCAA or conference legislation to NCAA staff, the conference office, and appropriate UWG administration (e.g. President, FAR, AD); Responsible for submission of all Compliance related NCAA, conference and UWG reports; Responsible for creating, researching and submitting all student-athlete waivers such as Student-Athlete Reinstatement, Progress Toward Degree, Initial Eligibility, and Legislative Relief; Responsible for the coordination and oversight of the Compliance Committee; Assists Financial Aid office with scholarship budgeting, awarding of institutional and endowed scholarships, and monitoring equivalencies while serving as the athletic department liaison to the office; Approve, coordinate and monitor official and unofficial visits and other associated recruiting activity; Maintains Athletic Department compliance software and NCAA Compliance Assistant database, including team rosters and eligibility checklists for all sports; Assist with updating relevant portions of department policies and procedures manual, as well as the student-athlete handbook; Serve on site at designated competitions and department events; Will serve as Sport Supervisor for athletic teams if deemed necessary and appropriate by the Director of Athletics; Coordinate admission and certification of transfer student-athletes; Review and input playing and practice seasons; Coordinate the completion of required and relevant NCAA/conference forms; Monitor countable athletic related activities logs; Work actively with the NCAA Eligibility Center for issues related to initial eligibility; Assists where assigned in coordination, planning and execution of athletic department events; performs other related duties as required. 

Responsibilities

 

1. Serve as the front-line developer and implementer of the compliance program for UWG Athletics. Facilitating, for example, the education of student-athletes, coaches, staff and supporters; process development; timely report creation; etc.
2. Serve as the primary respondent for all compliance-related concerns and questions. Taking the lead on functions such as (but not limited to) responding in a timely fashion to requests for support from student-athletes, coaches, staff, and others; following up on compliance concerns that may lead to investigations; etc.
3. Serve as sports supervisor for two or more sports.
4. Liaise and partner with members of the campus, conference, NCAA, and other entities as needed. Support department initiatives, including projects, events, etc., as assigned or as needed. Serve on department, campus, conference, NCAA and/or other committees as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

 

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

Four or more years of full-time, successful experience working in an NCAA compliance athletics office setting; Experience using LSDBi and RSRO, and other applicable NCAA programs and computer software.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

Preferred Experience

Two or more years of full-time experience working in an NCAA Division I compliance athletics office setting; Significant and demonstrated supervision of administrative staff members; Previous experience working as a sport supervisor.

 

Proposed Salary

 

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
