The University of West Georgia Athletic Department is a NCAA Division I athletic program in the ASUN Conference. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the Athletic Department is in full compliance with NCAA, ASUN, and University rules and procedures concerning student athlete recruitment, eligibility, admission, and participation. Provides continuous oversight of compliance matters and ensure education materials for coaches, staff and student athletes are updated as needed, Works directly with coaches on compliance issues and serves as the department's contact in these matters with the admissions office and the registrar. Must submit timely information for NCAA, ASUN, and University reports, forms and documentation. The position reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director and is expected to represent the University with professionalism.

Serve as the front-line developer and implementer of the compliance program for UWG Athletics. Facilitating, for example, the education of student-athletes, coaches, staff and supporters; process development; timely report creation; etc.

Serve as the primary respondent for all compliance-related concerns and questions. Taking the lead on functions such as (but not limited to) responding in a timely fashion to requests for support from student-athletes, coaches, staff, and others; following up on compliance concerns that may lead to investigations; etc.

Serve as sports supervisor (associate) for two or more sports.

Liaise and partner with members of the campus, conference, NCAA, and other entities as needed. Support department initiatives, including projects, events, etc., as assigned or as needed. Serve on department, campus, conference, NCAA and/or other committees as needed.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Other Required Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and procedures. Must have the ability to interpret the NCAA bylaws.
Required Experience
Four or more years of full-time, successful experience working in an NCAA compliance athletics office setting; Experience using LSDBi and RSRO, and other applicable NCAA programs and computer software.
This position will serve as the chief compliance officer for UWG Athletics. This person's failure to fulfill the duties of this job well may lead to the department and the institution being subject to various penalties and restrictions, as well as significant reputational loss for the campus.

Two or more years of full-time experience working in an NCAA Division I compliance athletics office setting; Significant and demonstrated supervision of administrative staff members; Previous experience working as a sport supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations, both those general in nature and those which apply directly to your position's responsibilities; Strict adherence to all applicable governing policies, procedures, and regulations of the NCAA is required and is a condition of employment; Knowledge of conference rules and regulations.
SKILLS
Skill in analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems; Skill in scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others; Skill in oral and written communication. Effective oral, written, and electronic communication skills with constituencies involved in a Division I intercollegiate athletics program.
