The Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Wellness, Compliance and Operations/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) job responsibilities include but are not limited to; sport and coach oversight; supervising Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Medicine/HCA; assisting with the management of the department’s compliance program; manage the day-to-day operations of external transportation agreements and travel meals; oversee Work Study; assist with game day management; advise Barry’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC); and serve as the senior woman administrator (SWA). The SWA assists with management and the administration of programs that involve key decisions, formulating strategies and goals, and evaluating performance. The SWA should serve as a role model and resource to all student-athletes and coaches and be a spokesperson for the needs and interests of women athletes

The Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Community Engagement/Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) job responsibilities include 1) oversee the athletic aid budget; 2) serve as department liaison with key student support units; 3) build relationships between the athletic department and the local community, alumni, and campus partners; 4) sport and coach oversight; 5) assist with game day management, and 6) serve as the senior woman administrator (SWA). The SWA assists with the management and administration of programs that involve key decisions, formulating strategies and goals, and evaluating performance. The SWA serves as a role model and resource to all student-athletes and coaches, implements wellness and leadership development programs, and serves as a spokesperson for the needs and interests of female athletes.

  • Manage departmental day-to-day operations. Serve as liaison with financial aid, admissions, housing, and CBO. Assist students with account balances as needed.
  • Oversee athletic aid budget, agreements, ILI, squad changes, and requests for summer school aid. Assist international student athletes with International Student Tax reporting and documentation. Monitor, track, and review sport roster goals and scholarship budgets to assess enrollment growth, retention, and NTR goals are being achieved. Provide ROI analysis of enrollment and NTR goals with sport team budget proformas. Tracking and approval of forms in ARMS.
  • Remain current and monitor rules and regulations of the NCAA, the SSC, and the University. Educate student-athletes, coaches, staff, friends, and supporters of the University on SSC and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Develop programming, training, and education as it relates to mental health, social justice, professional development, leadership, etc., for all student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Responsible for Athletics' Title IX, gender equity, and inclusion policies and program development. Represent athletics with campus constituencies and committees in the management of issues related to student-athlete welfare including the Dean of Students (student conduct and Title IX), student health, counseling services, sport psychology and A.R.M.S committee. Assists with implementation and oversight of the student-athlete grievance policy. Serve as Diversity and Inclusion designee
  • Establish connections with community partners, local businesses, non-profits, and civic organizations to increase the department’s visibility, support network, fan engagement, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Develop strategies to increase attendance at athletic events through community-focused promotions, ticket sales initiatives, and group outings
  • Coordinate community engagement and volunteer opportunities for student-athletes to actively participate in community service activities and similar community events that foster personal development. Stay abreast of NCAA community engagement opportunities and serve as the NCAA liaison to successfully integrate service and philanthropic initiatives into department events, game days, and championships.
  • Plan and execute signature events. Partner with the advancement office to coordinate and steward donor and alumni engagement functions (i.e., Athletic Alumni Reunions and Homecoming). Examples include but are not limited to student-athlete awards and distinguished alumni ceremonies (Bucky’s and Wall of Honor).
  • As the Senior Woman’s Administrator (SWA), represent the department at various university, SSC/AD conference meetings, and NCAA committees and task forces related to student-athlete welfare. Included in all high-level communication (including AD’s) from the conference office. Serves as chair of SSC coaches calls and reports back to regional committees, conference office, and coaches as necessary.  Vote in place of AD when unable to attend a scheduled SSC meeting on conference policy, rules, and regulations. Coordinates SAAC legislative voting for NCAA conventions. Supports gender equity and Title IX initiatives, as well as the review of the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act report.  Works with the University Title IX Coordinator to ensure gender equity in the athletic programs.
  • Compile information to submit the NCAA Sport Sponsorship Report and other revenue and expense reports. Assist with hosting and travel responsibilities for NCAA Championships as needed. Serve as game administrator for home competitions. Other duties as assigned.
