The Associate Athletic Director of Student Success is responsible for supporting student-athletes, coaches, and the greater UIW community to ensure student-athlete success. Position serves a senior staff role in Athletics working on projects assigned by the Athletic Director to support strategic initiatives of the department and university. Sport administration will be a key aspect of this position. The Associate Athletic Director of Student Success reports to the Athletic Director.Note that this is an internal opening and only current UIW employees are eligible to apply.

Job Duties
Management
Interacts with coaches and student-athletes to resolve student-athlete welfare issues and serves as the department liaison to the campus Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability. Oversees the APR reporting process in conjunction with the compliance office, certification specialist, and athletic advisors. Ensures degree progress academic records are input into the NCAA Compliance Assistance Portal for APR reporting. Tracks academic progress for APR purposes. Provides support to the Assistant Athletic Director, Academic Advising & Student Success; ensures academic compliance with NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules. Serves as a liaison between the academic and athletic branches of the University. Assists with the planning and execution of strategies designed to strengthen department support services for all student-athletes. Supervises and manages sports programs and respective coaching staff as assigned by Athletic Director. Communicates with athletics administrators, coaches, and student-athletes regarding department functions, policies, and procedures. Interacts with University faculty, FAR, and Associate Provost of Academic Support Services/Dean of Student Success concerning issues related to student-athletes and their progress. Serves as the department liaison to numerous campus partners, including but not limited to Residence Life and Housing, Campus Dining, Admissions, another other campus departments/offices. Serves as the Sport Administrator in sports designated by the Athletic Director. Serves as the department liaison to the campus Office of Title IX and leads department gender equity efforts. Serves and at-times leads hiring committees of coaches and athletic administrators. Acts as an official representative of the University at Institutional, Conference and NCAA meetings, as requested by the Athletic Director. Serves on committees and task forces, as required. Acts as advisor to Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have high level of interpersonal skills and tact to handle confidential situations and sensitive information. Excellent communication, listening and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks. Self-starter with an outstanding work ethic. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other computer skills. Strong analysis skills. Knowledge of the NCAA Division I rules and regulations, with a demonstrated understanding of and adherence to conference and NCAA Division I rules and regulations. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Five (5) years of administration experience in collegiate athletics.Two (2) years of supervisory or departmental leadership experience.

Master’s Degree. Seven (7) years in collegiate athletics in administration.
Typical Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional extended hours/weekends to meet departmental needs.
Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time. Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage employees, students, and guests, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
