The Associate Athletic Trainer will report to the Assistant Athletic Director/Director Sports Medicine. Primary responsibility for the overall medical and health related care of the assigned student athletes participating in the NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic program. Essential duties include but are not be limited to: assist in prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, physician referral, and medical documentation of all injuries associated with assigned student athletes; communicate with coaches, student athletes, parents, staff and physicians within NATA and HIPAA guidelines; observe all athletic policy and procedures in accordance with NATA regulations as well as NCAA, Conference USA and MTSU rules and remain certified to perform these duties on a daily basis. Provide supervision of daily practice and game coverage, in season travel, and summer sports workout coverage for assigned student athletes as permitted by NCAA legislation and required to be flexible and adapt to schedule changes. Serve as an approved preceptor within the CAATE accredited undergraduate athletic training program. Related duties include: supervision of certified graduate assistant athletic trainers and our athletic training students in the athletic training educational program and instruct these students in professional prevention, care and rehabilitation of assigned athletes. Associate Athletic Trainer will attend national NATA and Conference USA meetings and/or conventions to remain current in their field for changes that occur. Comply with NCAA legislation and immediately report any known violations of NCAA rules to the Compliance Office and submit all required documentation to the Compliance office in a timely fashion. Assist the Assistant Athletic Director / Director Sports Medicine in development and maintenance of all policies and procedures in accordance with NATA policy and procedures for athletic training facilities and maintain an accurate system of documentation for each assigned student athlete and their treatment. Coordinate insurance benefits for secondary insurance and payment of medical bills for student-athletes. Assist to coordinate the drug testing/educational program for all student athletes and perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.

Bachelors in Health/ Athletic Training required.
Bachelors in Health/ Athletic Training plus Masters Degree in Sports Management or related field preferred.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible, relevant collegiate or clinical athletic training experience required. Equivalent years of experience as an intern or graduate assistant in athletic training field will also be accepted. Knowledge of NATABOC rules and regulations required. Prefer NCAA Div. I experience in the Vivature Insurance documentation system.
CPR, AED, First Aid Certified required. Eligible for Tennessee State licensing required.
Four years progressively responsible Division I A Athletic Training experience preferred. Prefer NCAA Div I experience in the Vivature Insurance documentation system.
