Swarthmore College is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time (10-month) Associate Athletic Trainer within the Department of Athletics, Physical Education & Recreation. The Associate Athletic Trainer must have earned a degree in athletic training (or related field), have NATABOC Certification, and be certified as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) in the state of Pennsylvania. A master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field is preferred. The Associate Athletic Trainer will draw upon their specialized education and training to provide preventative, rehabilitative, and emergency medical care for assigned teams/student-athletes in various settings—including before/during/after practices and contests, as well as while managing athletic training room hours. The Associate Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with management and oversight of all areas of the Athletic Training room and of the Athletic Training staff, as needed, and will ensure compliance with applicable NCAA policies as well as best practices. The position’s responsibilities are performed with a high level of autonomy and discretion.

A certified athletic trainer with thorough knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and best practices and the ability to lead a staff of athletic trainers in providing superior services for our student-athletes, coaches, and overall department. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with the pertinent administrative responsibilities and managerial tasks, and will be committed to fostering an inclusive environment while supporting the overall mission and values of the College and the Department.
